I love music that defies categorization.
Rain On Mars, the second album for Scott Cole and Matthew Coffman, does just that. Their eclectic musical expressions work exceedingly well together! Just as they did in their first album, Shapeshifters.
Rain On Mars is a thoroughly enjoyable listen. While the subject matter concerns itself with all things Mars, the music itself is fresh and , well, earthy! This instrumental album is a touch World, a bit Americana; dulcet guitar strains, thoughtful flute, and exotic old world instruments that surprise, and delight, all make for a wonderful woven sound.
Rain On Mars is definitely worth a good listen. Or two. Or three. No, I think more. :)
